The Winchester Economic Development Corporation (WEDC)

is a not-for-profit organization founded in 2010 by a group of its citizens who recognize the need for an active effort to revitalize the town of Winchester by fostering to improve the standard of living and attracting and supporting new and thriving businesses.

 The WEDC is a registered 501(c) (3) non-profit with the chief goal being to improve the standard of living by bringing in new and thriving businesses.

Through organized leadership and coordinated efforts the corporation aims to improve and revitalize the local business base by attracting new commerce to the town maintaining and furthering a strong and positive business base

The mission of the WEDC is to support existing businesses, attract new commercial ventures, and to promote sustainable growth utilizing environmentally sound strategies, for the purpose of improving tax base, employment, and offering a wider selection of services and products to the community of Winchester.

In order to meet the objectives of the mission, the WEDC will….

Serve

Serve as a liaison between the private and public sector to coordinate and negotiate development activity.

Seek

Seek potential property owners, developers, and tenants.

Develop

Develop plans for bringing together available programs, investment opportunities, financial assistance programs.

Assist

Assist the Board of Selectmen in meeting their responsibilities for maintaining a strong business base.

Cooperate

Cooperate with the Planning Board, the Revitalization Board, and other community organizations in its development planning role.

Provide

WEDC can sell or lease you an ideal locations suited to most of your business needs.
